About Institution

Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mahavidyalaya Patan was established Adarsh Gramvikas Bahu-Uddeshiy Sanstha Nandappa Ta. Jiwati District Chandrapur in 2009 in a small rented building. Today the college having its own building and play ground that includes a land area of about 3 acres, has grown to a strength of about 200 students.

This is theOnly Arts  college in Patan Jiwati Tahsil located in remote tribal and naxal affected region of district Chandrapur (Maharashtra). It has been started and run by Adarsh Gramvikas Bahu-Uddeshiy Sanstha Nandappa Ta. Jiwati District Chandrapur. This private organization has been engaged in education field for the last three decades to provide proper and true knowledge to the tribal and poor students of this remote area in Chandrapur district. The organization has more than 50 institutes including Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary schools, Ashram schools and undergraduate & post-graduate colleges providing quality education to thousands of tribal, backward, downtrodden and poor students of this region.

This college is situated at Patan Tahsil Jiwati in Chandrapur district. It is connected to main cities Nagpur and Chandrapur by only road (bus route). The goals and objectives of this college are to provide quality education at under graduate level to tribal, backward and downtrodden students of the region, so that blind faith, superstitions, backwardness and poverty may be eliminated. The college is committed to provide excellence in education and pursuit of knowledge through the learning in academic and extra-curricular activities, developing strong moral values and sound physical ability.

The institution has strategic plan which is effectively deployed in teaching-learning process, examination related work, and other activities. Some Faculty members are part of the Board of Studies/Committee of Courses, who participate in curriculum/syllabus designing and development.

The college is thriving to incorporate new technology and tools to improve the quality of teaching and learning. LCD projectors are installed in nearly all classrooms. WiFi is made available to all faculty and students within the college campus. OPAC systems is also available in library to get access to e-resources and some computers are installed in the library to help students learn basic computer technology.

Field visits are organized to enrich the knowledge of the students. Student’s performance is assessed continuously through unit-wise tests, assignments, seminars, attendance etc. A Tentative schedule is made in the academic calendar for the conduction of unit- tests. Class tests/surprise tests, student seminars, are conducted by departments to evaluate the students.
